Energy generation and storage projects

CleanCo is progressing a range of energy generation and storage projects as part of the Swanbank site's development as a Clean Energy Hub.

In 2023 CleanCo invited the energy market to put forward proposals for innovative, technically and commercially read clean energy technology with a capacity of up to 400MW. These new technologies would complement the battery already planned for the Swanbank site.

The NAS Battery is the first project to progress to a feasibility stage as part of the EOI process. Other projects are currently being evaluated.


  • We're building a big battery at Swanbank!

    CleanCo is building a 250MW/500MWh battery at Swanbank, as part of the site's development as a Clean Energy Hub.

    Yurika is delivering the project, with Tesla supplying the battery modules.

  • NAS Battery feasibility study

    CleanCo is partnering with Allset Energy to undertake a feasibility study to install a 1.5MW NAS Battery at Swanbank.

    The battery would be located on the site of one of the now demolished coal-fired power stations. Its exact location will be determined as part of the study.
